fritzst asked: Hello, what is your technique/process for coloring and shading your work once the lines are complete. In other words how do you go from no color to full-blown rendered (in a more "realistic" lighting style). When I'm coloring, I have trouble deciding where a highlight or a darker shade should go on a character's arm or waist or anywhere really. Also, what is your thinking behind how you choose the colors? Thank you.
I’d love to be the hero here and solve this problem in a few words but there is literally hundreds of tutorials and books and lessons and etc on coloring and they are pretty good for newbie usage. There’s nothing I do that’s stylistically unique that I could impart on you that a dozen DA tutorials can’t do already.
I will say this. If you are awful with color. Learn to shade in black and white first. Learn values. Its not “sexy” but it will help you in the long run.
